Silicon Valley Council on Nonprofits (SVCN) invites you to hear Assemblymember Jim Beall discuss the State Budget and its impact on the city, county, services.
We want to ensure that there is great awareness on the impact the state budget will have on the services provided by the city, county, and non-profit sector.
Born and raised in Silicon Valley and educated at Bellarmine and San Jose State University, Beall began his career in politics at the age of 28 when he was elected to the San Jose City Council. Today, he still holds the distinction of being the youngest person ever to serve on the council. After 14 years on the San Jose City Council, he was elected to the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors where he served three terms. In 2006, he won the Assembly District 24 race and is now in his second term in the State Legislature.
In Sacramento, Beall is working on policies, programs, and legislation to increase jobs and improve our business climate. He also continues to concentrate on issues that he worked on locally – health care, transportation, bolstering the foster care system, and seeing that people with disabilities are treated fairly.
