Partners, Sponsors & Contributors

ALF believes in collaboration, and we recognize the power of relationships built
on trust.

Charitable contributions further ALF's mission of building a better Silicon Valley community by joining and strengthening leaders to serve the common good. The support of individual donors is critical to ALF's success, and their ongoing generosity is deeply appreciated.

Exemplary Leader Celebration

Over the years, ALF-SV has honored a select group of outstanding leaders from Silicon Valley and beyond at its Exemplary Leader Celebration. Event sponsors have the opportunity to support ALF's mission and demonstrate their community commitment.

On May 3, 2012, ALF honored Bruce Bochy, San Francisco Giants Manager, as its Exemplary Leader and Senior Fellows LaDoris Hazzard Cordell, Class VIII, Independent Police Auditor for the City of San Jose and Stephen S. Smith, Class XIV, Senior Managing Director of Arma Partners, as its 2012 John W. Gardner Award Honorees.

ALF Senior Fellows Dave Mills, Class XXI, Principal Consultant, Korora Partners, Inc., and Luther Jackson, Class X, Economic Stimulus Manager for NOVA Workforce Board, co-chaired the 2012 Exemplary Leader Celebration.

Sponsors for the 2012 Exemplary Leader Celebration included: Cisco Systems, Aeris Communications, Adobe, Agilent Technologies, Applied Materials, Dignity Health, The Health Trust, UBS, DLA Piper, PG&E, Silicon Valley Community Foundation, Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal and Gordon Biersch.

Common Good Collaborative

In June 2008, ALF-Silicon Valley and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation announced a partnership to create a Common Good Collaborative in Silicon Valley. Through the Common Good Collaborative, and in partnership with other community organizations, ALF sponsored a series of community dialogues, forums and the "Uncommon Exchange" conversation series to address pressing societal issues, explore principles of the common good and develop a framework for setting priorities in the community.

20th Anniversary Gala

On Tuesday, March 10, 2009, ALF celebrated 20 years of servant leadership in Silicon Valley with a gala celebration at the HP Pavilion in San Jose. The 20th Anniversary Gala Committee, led by co-chairs Kathy Meier (Class IX) and Greg Jamison (Class XII), hosted an unforgettable and untraditional night, podium-free and filled with fun and fellowship.
