SUMMARY:AAPI Caucus
DESCRIPTION:AAPI Caucus\nAsian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) Senior Fellows and Fellows come together to build relationships\, support each other’s leadership\, and explore how they can collectively address issues of concern to them and their communities. \nRacial caucuses can provide “opportunities for those who share a common identity to meet separately to gather\, connect\, and learn.”  Often\, “caucusing can be a valuable component of an organization’s broader racial justice and equity and inclusion efforts\,” including time in separate caucuses and time together in multi-racial community.  (JustLead Washington\, Caucuses as a Racial Justice Strategy). \nALF is continuing and deepening the work of bringing people together to build understanding and relationships across differences. \nIf you are interested in joining the AAPI\, Black\, or Latino/a/x group or creating another group\, please contact akemi@alfsv.org.  Please contact jenny@alfsv.org to join the White Leaders Learning Circle.

SUMMARY:CEO DIEL Cohort 3 Affinity Group
DESCRIPTION:CEO DIEL Cohort 3 Affinity Group\n  \nOver the course of the past two years\, ALF has been facilitating two groups of 20 nonprofit leaders who want to engage more deeply on the concepts of diversity\, inclusion\, equity\, and liberation (DIEL) and to explore what those ideas mean personally\, organizationally and for the nonprofit sector. With intention\, the group spent time personally exploring white supremacy culture and the personal biases they hold. They examined how the culture of white supremacy impacts the work and structure of their organizations as well as how the sector functions as a whole. The group asked itself: “If the leaders in this sector took this on personally and organizationally\, how would we know that there had been a shift in awareness and application?” Answer: An organization has answered for itself: what are we doing that perpetuates white supremacy culture and what can we do to dismantle racism? The third cohort will of this group will begin in September of 2020. All three of these groups are closed groups. \nIf you have any questions regarding the CEO DIEL Affinity Group\, contact Chief Impact Officer\, Jenny Niklaus at jniklaus@alfsv.org
