Heather Rangel is the US Technology Sector Leader at Deloitte. She focuses on connecting and inspiring Deloitte's clients and professionals towards impact in innovation and growth. Heather is passionate about technology's disruptive effects on business models and supporting operations. She focuses much of her time exploring these edges.

Heather leads the global Deloitte account for a Fortune 500 technology company, where she drives strategic relationship management, addresses complex business challenges and nurtures positively disruptive ideas.

Heather is on the Board of Directors of a non-profit, Cancer Commons, an organization dedicated to uniting patients, oncologists, and scientists in creating a rapid learning platform for the delivery of precision personalized cancer care.

Heather is a frequent public speaker around topics related to women in leadership and digital disruption. She is a strong supporter of the arts, especially documentary filmmakers addressing the most important social and economic issues of our time. She participated in ALF Class XXXIII.

David Yarnold served as the CEO of the National Audubon Society from 2010 to 2021. Prior to Audubon, Yarnold served as Editor and Senior Vice President of the San Jose Mercury News and Executive Director of the Environmental Defense Action Fund.

David graduated from ALF Class XII and joined the ALF board in September 2018.

Mary has worked in finance, banking, and the law since graduating from UCLA with a BS in Economics (1983) and a JD from Stanford Law School (1989). Most recently, she served as General Counsel of Silicon Valley Bank and as CEO of Green Dot Bank. Earlier in her career, she lived and worked in the Netherlands, where she was General Counsel of New Skies Satellites, and in Washington, D.C., where she served on the staff of Senator Edward M. Kennedy and worked in private practice.  Currently, Mary works as an executive coach and serves on corporate and non-profit boards, including the boards of All Five, Commonwealth, and the Stanford Institute for Research in the Social Sciences. Mary participated in ALF Class XXV and joined the ALF board in March 2020.

From the uniquely restorative setting of Miramar Farms, Jayne provides a combination of senior leadership coaching and skilled program facilitation for organizations working on environmental, health, housing, education and other critical societal issues. She serves on the board of the San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board and previously served on the boards of the Silicon Valley Community Foundation, Youth Outside, and Cabrillo Education Foundation. In 2019, Jayne co-founded the Women’s Climate Network with the goal of building the leadership and network capacity of women working in climate change and adaptation.

Prior to starting Miramar Farms, Jayne held executive roles in three organizations—as Director of Land and Environmental Management at Pacific Gas and Electric Company, as Executive Director of Pacific Forest and Watershed Lands Stewardship Council, and as founder and President of Essex Environmental.

Jayne received her Masters of Science degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science and her bachelor’s degree from Boston College. She is certified in the Everything DiSC® and Five Behaviors® leadership curriculum. Jayne is a Senior Fellow of the American Leadership Forum, Class XXIV.

Sharon Binger is a Managing Director, Chief Compliance Officer and Head of Litigation of Silver Lake, the global leader in large-scale technology investing. In her role, she oversees a team of compliance professionals and is responsible for administering the firm's compliance program worldwide and overseeing the firm's litigation. Prior to joining Silver Lake, Sharon was at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, where she served as the regional director of the Philadelphia Regional Office, administering the Commission's enforcement and regulatory programs for the Mid-Atlantic region. She began at the SEC in the enforcement division as an attorney and later served as an assistant director of enforcement in the New York office. Before joining the SEC, Sharon was a senior litigation associate at Willkie Farr & Gallagher in New York. Sharon serves as a Trustee of the Board and Chair of the Governance Committee of Woodland School, a K-8 independent school in Portola Valley, California.

Sharon received her B.A. from Northwestern University and her J.D. with honors from Duke University. Sharon participated in ALF Class XLI.

Chris Cheng : CEO, Global Science & Technology

Dr. Christopher Cheng splits his time between aerospace government contracting, the medical device industry, and academic research. Chris runs Global Science & Technology (gst.com), a contractor to NOAA, NASA, DoD, and USDA focusing on satellite remote sensing for weather and climate change monitoring. He also runs a consulting practice within GST dedicated to helping medical device companies holistically evaluate and improve durability and biomechanical compatibility of medical implants.

Chris is an Adjunct Professor in the Division of Vascular Surgery at Stanford, Director of the Vascular Intervention Biomechanics & Engineering lab (vibelab.stanford.edu), and President of Cardiovascular Implant Durability (cvidconference.org), a 501(c)(3) that helps the medical device industry develop more durable medical devices. He is considered the preeminent expert in vascular motion, having over 100 publications and edited Handbook of Vascular Motion (PROSE Book Award Nominee), the first and only book dedicated to how blood vessels move. Previously, Chris was co-founder and CEO of Kōli, Inc., an early-stage medical device company developing a catheter-based solution for gallstone disease. He studied BME and EE at Duke University, and earned his Master’s and Ph.D. in Biomechanics at Stanford University. Chris currently serves as a board member of the Duke University Pratt School of Engineering and participated in ALF Class XXXIX.

David received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan in 1980, received his JD from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1992 and joined the County of Santa Clara in 1994. David is an advocate for advancing social justice and equity in the criminal justice system. As an administrator, he worked collaboratively with the district attorney, law enforcement agencies, the courts, probation, county executive, board of supervisors, community-based organizations, and other justice system partners to find ways to improve efficiency, reduce disproportionality, and reduce recidivism with the goal of enhancing public safety and justice. David graduated with ALF Class XXIX.

Tom Giles is the executive editor of the global technology team at Bloomberg News. He previously served as managing editor of U.S. company news and team leader for U.S. technology. Tom was also the editor of Businessweek.com’s Technology channel, based in Silicon Valley. Before joining Businessweek.com in 2005, Giles was deputy technology team leader at Bloomberg News, where he spent more than eight years, with stints in New York, London and San Francisco. He holds a master’s degree in international affairs from Columbia University and a B.A. in politics from Princeton University. Tom graduated with ALF Class XXXVII.

Jon is employment law counsel for Netflix primarily focused on domestic advice and counsel and litigation. Prior to joining Netflix, Jon was senior corporate counsel at Cadence Design Systems, Inc., a leading electronic design automation software and engineering company. Jon provided employment advice and counsel and managed litigation.

Before Cadence, Jon practiced at Hoge, Fenton, Jones & Appel, Inc. in their employment law group.  He focused on counseling mid-size and large Silicon Valley companies on employment matters, including trade-secret protection, employee discipline, investigations, employee handbooks and policies, employee agreements, tax matters and advocacy, employment class-actions and general litigation.  Jon litigated cases in state and federal courts; as well as before various governmental agencies.

Jon graduated with honors from University of California, Berkeley with a B.A. in political science; and the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law. Jon is a member of Class XXXI.

Rosalynn Hughey serves as Deputy City Manager for the City of San José. Prior to joining the City of San José in 2014, Rosalynn was Deputy Director for the Washington, D.C. Office of Planning. Kim served as HP Inc.’s President, Strategy and Business Management (2019-2020) and Chief Legal Officer (2015-2020). In this role, Kim led corporate strategy and development, sales strategy and operations, customer support, indirect procurement, real estate and workplace functions, and enterprise digital strategy and transformation. In addition, Kim managed the worldwide legal organization, including all aspects of legal and government affairs, brand security, compliance and ethics.

Prior to joining HP, Ms. Rivera served as the Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary for DaVita HealthCare Partners, a Global Fortune 250 healthcare services company. Previously, Ms. Rivera was the Chief Compliance Officer and Head of International Legal Services at The Clorox Company, where she also oversaw labor and employment counseling and litigation. Before joining Clorox, Ms. Rivera served as Chief Litigation Counsel for Rockwell Automation as well as General Counsel for its Automation Controls and Information Group.

Passionate about giving back to the community, Ms. Rivera has served on numerous non-profit boards including the California Latino Community Foundation and the Denver Metro Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and she is a current member of the Leadership Council On Legal Diversity Board. She is a frequent speaker on diversity and inclusion in corporations and the legal profession, with emphasis on women in leadership.

Suzanne St. John-Crane joined American Leadership Forum in March of 2016, having been through both Classic Class XXV and the inaugural Urbanism Class XXXIV. St. John-Crane has worked in community media for the last twenty-four years, having served as the founding executive director for two community television stations in the Bay Area including CreaTV San Jose. St. John-Crane was named one of Silicon Valley’s 100 Women of Influence in 2012 by the Business Journal and currently serves as Board Chair of ALF National. She has served on the boards of Rotary San Jose, the Silicon Valley Organization, National Alliance for Community Media and is the Chair Emeritus for HomeFirst. Suzanne oversees ALF's vision, strategy, fundraising and foundational Fellows program.

Toni is a seasoned digital transformation leader with extensive strategy development, program execution, and organizational change management experience. The Digital Workplace Group named Toni the "2019 Digital Workplace Leader of the Year," recognizing the impact of her inspirational leadership. Toni currently leads Adobe's Digital Workplace Experience organization focused on keeping Adobe employees innovative, collaborative, and productive from anywhere. Her team won the 2021 CIO100 award in recognition of their business impact and thought leadership.

In addition to her functional role, Toni always makes time for mentoring and community service. She founded Adobe's Black Employee Network and currently serves as the Site Council Leader at Adobe's Headquarters in San Jose. In her Site Leader role, she is an employee ambassador leading a Site Council whose mission is to amplify Adobe's culture and connect employees to the communities where they live and work.

Toni is a lifelong learner. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, is an American Leadership Forum Senior Fellow, and literally fought to earn her Black Belt in Tai Kwon Do.

Ken Yeager has had a long career in both policy-making and as a leader in the LGBTQ community. Ken received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from San Jose State University and his Ph.D. in Education from Stanford University. In 1984 he co-founded BAYMEC, an LGBTQ+ political action committee in the Bay Area that is still active today. In 1992, he was elected to the San Jose/Evergreen Community College Board, becoming the first openly gay official in Santa Clara County. He subsequently won election to the San Jose City Council in 2000 and the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors in 2006.

A long-time lecturer at SJSU, he returned to teaching in 2019. That same year he became executive director of the non-profit arm of BAYMEC, the BAYMEC Community Foundation, where he created the LGBTQ+ website QueerSiliconValley.com, curated an LGBTQ+ museum exhibit, and produced the documentary film Queer Silicon Valley. He serves on the board of the Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST). Ken is a member of ALF Class VI.
