ALF Fellows Program
Extraordinary People. Transformative Year.
The American Leadership Forum (ALF) Fellows Program convenes exceptional, purpose-driven leaders from business, government, and the nonprofit world for a transformative year of deep reflection, authentic connection, and collaborative leadership growth.
This is not a traditional leadership program. It is an immersive experience in human-centered, systems-level leadership—one that challenges accomplished leaders to expand their perspective, strengthen their ability to navigate complexity, and mobilize networks for meaningful, lasting impact.
Seating the Cohort
Each year, ALF’s Network Development Committee selects up to twenty-eight distinguished leaders—nominated by our community of Senior Fellows—for a journey that blends personal growth with a collective evolution.
The ALF Fellows Program is built on these foundational principles:
- Presence – showing up fully and intentionally for self and others
- Confidentiality – creating a trusted space for authentic dialogue
- Generative Dialogue – engaging in conversations that deepen understanding and spark new possibilities
The experience begins with practices of mindfulness, reflection, and storytelling, inviting Fellows to examine their own leadership narratives. Through shared experiences—ranging from aikido and somatic leadership coaching to integrative health and systems thinking—participants strengthen their capacity for awareness, empathy, and decisive action.
Throughout the year, Fellows cultivate the trust and depth of relationship that enable true cross-sector collaboration. They emerge with an expanded sense of responsibility—to lead not just within their organizations, but within their communities and across society.
A Network of Influence
Graduates of the ALF Fellows Program—Senior Fellows—join a dynamic, cross-sector network of leaders who share a commitment to acting as conscious, connected, and civically engaged citizens. This living network continues to drive change across industries and regions, modeling what leadership looks like when grounded in integrity, inclusion, and collaboration.
Our Core Values
The ALF Fellows Program is guided by a shared belief system that shapes every interaction and outcome:
- We believe in the power and importance of trusted relationships.
- We believe that inclusion is critical for thriving, equitable communities and healthy people alike.
- We believe in the power of dialogue and collaborative leadership with leaders who have curiosity about people whose identity, culture, background and work/life experiences may be different from their own.
- We believe we have a responsibility to prioritize active civic engagement to serve for the benefit of our communities.
- We prioritize and engage in practices of mindfulness, grace, accountability and openness to personal and professional growth.
The ALF Fellows Program is where accomplished leaders pause, connect, and reimagine what’s possible—within themselves, their organizations, and their communities.
