Hsing co-founded SDL Inc in 1983 and Pine Photonics in 2000. In addition to his current role with Acorn Campus Ventures, he serves on the boards of several optoelectronics companies. Previously Hsing served on the boards of Fremont Union High School and United Way Silicon Valley. He received a BSEE from National Cheng Kung University, a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, and an MBA from Santa Clara University. Hsing graduated with ALF Class XIII.
